Today Mama Bear joined her cubs on a hiking adventure, ya Jessica! We drove the 16 mile dirt road that has become pretty wash-boarded up to Mowich Lake to access the trail head. The weather today was hot, near 90F, so this trip could not have enough water breaks. The falls were great, and it was great to share them with Jess. After the 3.8 mile round trip, we soaked our tired feet in Mowich Lake. The cold water was fun and refreshing after a hot day on the trail. This is an excellent week-day hike, highly recommended.
At the trail head.
The shade felt nice on this hot day.
One of six log bridges along the trail.
Wild flowers.
Brown Frog.
Wild Mountain Huckleberry. Try some in Tillamook Ice Cream, I eat it all the time.
Mount Rainier, as viewed from the north-west.
Curvy trees, nature.
Almost to the falls!
A fine location to sit and view the falls.
