Seabrook - April 30, 2016

We had a brief but wonderful visit to Seabrook this weekend with Max and Ollie and Nana and Poppa Boye. It was great to soak up the sun and feel the cold ocean breeze all day. The time on the beach was wonderful, and the house was cozy and fun. The kids had fun walking the dogs and building a gnome house along the gnome house trail.

Gold Creek Pond Hike - First Attempt - 4/5/16

We tried to access this trail around Gold Creek Pond and found the road to the trail head was snowed in completely. We decided to hike on the snow a little ways to see what we could see. It was very quiet and peaceful in the snowy woods, and was an adventure fur sure. We can't wait to return when the snow has melted and we can access the actual trail around Gold Creek Pond.

4/4/16 - Twin Falls Hike

Today I took the kids hiking along the South Fork of the Snoqualmie River. The Twin Falls trail is just off either Exit 34 or Exit 38 along I-90 east. We chose the Exit 34 way and approached the falls from the west. The parking area is in the Olallie State Park, so a current park pass is required. The weather was brisk but dry, and there were only a few other people on the trail with us. About 2/3 of the way to the Falls, the trail is closed and that is where we stopped to enjoy the view of the falls from a distance. After crunching through the snacks we brought along, it was time to head back to the car. Kids had fun, and it was a great way to get out for a few hours and enjoy the woods.
Claire and Levi heading out at the start of the trail.

Way to go, Claire!

Great job Levi!

Twin Falls from the viewpoint.

Our destination, a view of the falls.

The trail is closed just past the viewpoint, which was a good turn around point for the kids anyways.

Snoqualmie River, south fork.

Silly kids.
